What's Up?
About to upgrade my ancient system(Athlon 64 3500+/7800 GT/Corsair TWINX2048-3500LLPRO) and have decided on a Core i5 and ASrock P55 Extreme with 750W Antec TruePower, however i reached a snag when it came to picking a graphic card or cards. While i know that 2 4870s will beat out one HD5850, i believe that the resolution my HDTV supports makes that irrelevant. I use a 32" HDTV as both my monitor and TV(in college) and the max reso is 1360X768(though it did manage 1920x1080 once while playing Fable) and at that resolution, even on max settings, either option will usually pump over 55-60 FPS in any game (except crysis lol). So my question is since this is a new system and I want it to last, is it a smarter decision to just get the HD5850 now and have DX11 for the future(and the lower power consumption per card) instead of the 2 4870s and the FPS now? I do plan on buying another HD 5850 in the future if i do go that route as well. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!
