Hello,

Friend of mine brought me a computer with really a strange problem.
There are some strange artefacts in the screen. What do you think the problem might be?

I'm not sure what the Graphic Adapter is but it's made by Asus and there are no clues whatsoever about the model of the graphic card. I am thinking if system memory can cause this? because I removed and reinstalled the ram than the green lines turned to dark ones.

The mobo is ASRock K7VT4A+

I know this PC doesn't worth even $10's but I'm still wanting to help them if someone knows what's caousing this since they're using it only for web browsing and some office it's just fine for these taks.

Thank you in advance.

As you get those green lines even in bios, we can rule out driver issues. My best guess is a faulty GPU, but it's also possible that the GPU is not properly seated in the slot, so please go through everything and make sure it sits like it should. Also could you post your full system specs as it is hard to troubleshoot without knowing.

Okay, I just removed all the components one by one and cleaned everything deeply. Reinstalled the CPU, renewed the thermal paste of both CPU and GPU.

I also got some clue about the system configuration once I removed the parts.
Motherboard: ASRock K7VT4A+
CPU: AMD Sempron 2300+ (Socket 462)
RAM: 1GB DDR400 RAM
GPU: ATI Radeon 9200 128MB (AGP X8)
In other words crappiest system ever, I think this processor doesn't even support SSE2, I don't understand how they still use this in 2017 with modern applications.
It can be good for old dos and windows gaming with Windows 98 but with modern apps no way.

I won't waste my time with it, but for last I will try the baking method.
Thank you Kasper for your answer.

I just solved the problem, it's soo strange but the problem were drivers. Yes the problem was the generic driver running the BIOS! Now I reinstalled all the drivers and it's working perfectly fine. It does this in the post screen and in the Windows Loading logo but after the logo it's working just fine.
