Hi, everyone!

My system is this:

- Processor: i5 2500K 3.3GHz [Stock]
- Video card: GTX 970 EVGA SSC
- Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-M
- Memory: 16GB (2x8) Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz
- Drives: 1x SSD Samsung 850 EVO 250GB + 1x HDD Seagate Barracuda 320GB + 1x DVD-RW
- Coolers: Hyper 212 EVO (with Thermaltake TG-2 thermal paste) + 4x 120mm fans across the case (5 with the Hyper 212 included)
- PSU: Antec Gamer 520W 80 plus Bronze

My BIOS shows CPU idle temperature about 38-39ºC. HW Monitor, however, shows temperatures like these: https://imgur.com/bJVBkBE
[ UPDATE: after disabling CPU turbo mode in the BIOS, the readings are these: https://imgur.com/VlSDthB ]

Even stranger is the fact that, at heavy load games, it doesn't hit far from 62ºC.

What should I do?
Thanks in advance!

P.S.: I live in Brazil. It's really hot here hahahah

Solution
39 degs C is fine - 50 degs is fine - 62 degs under load is very good. Enjoy your gaming computer.

There will be some differences in temps readings depending on what type of monitoring program is used. RealTemp will give you even different readings.

Thanks a lot for the information, Ubrales :)

- This Windows is a really fresh and clean install from last week.
- BIOS is up to date.
- I reapplied the thermal paste.
- BIOS idle temperature remains the same.
- HW Monitor keeps showing those "45-50ish" idle temperatures.
- 30 minutes of GTA V on ultra settings leave the CPU at a stable 60ºC.

I guess that should be the correct temperature then, considering I live in a pretty hot country (and it's summer).

Hot country and summer makes your current temps look even better. My current idle temps are around 32 degs. C and the ambient temp. in the room is 18 degs. C (63 degs. F) - It is winter here; snowing outside. Gaming temps are in the low 60s C. (i7 3770K)

WOW, I would never expect that! It's 30ºC in my city right now.
Well, that settles it then 😀
Once again, thank you very much, Ubrales and helpstar!

It's 63 degs F in my room now with the i7 3770K overclocked and three 24" monitors running. The computer and monitors help heat the room a little bit. The rest of the house is around 60 F. One unoccupied room with the door closed is 53 degs. F. I built this computer in this unoccupied room, and whenever the temp was below 55 degs. F, the computer would not start. I got it to start only when I directed a hair dryer against the motherboard. This is a mystery to this day.

Today is a sunny day and that helps heat up the home. We are waiting for summer!

Hahahhah, that was a nice thing to picture. I wish I lived somewhere like that, with snow and all, cause the heat during summer in Brazil is unbelievable! The air conditioner is the only thing that can help cooling the PC in these days.

Oh, well, we always want what we don't have hahahahhah.
