I have had Windows 10 blue screen on me and the computer rebooted. This has happened three times now. The analysis of the dump file says:

ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NOEXECUTE_MEMORY (fc)
An attempt was made to execute non-executable memory. The guilty driver
is on the stack trace (and is typically the current instruction pointer).
When possible, the guilty driver's name (Unicode string) is printed on
the bugcheck screen and saved in KiBugCheckDriver.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffff80667f80180, Virtual address for the attempted execute.
Arg2: 8900000002097963, PTE contents.
Arg3: fffffd0774e894b0, (reserved)
Arg4: 0000000000000000, (reserved)

Is it Internet Explorer that has problems or is it a driver?

Solution
so its not telling me a driver name, I hate that.

I was going to blame a 2018 Intel lan driver until I saw the other part is from 2020.

So we have seen avast cause BSOD before so could do a clean boot and see if it still happens.
Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any Microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

NO, its what crashed, its not the cause.

a driver is to blame. Your information doesn't show the stack info.

Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD - that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD

copy that file to documents

upload the copy from documents to a file sharing web site, and share the link in your thread so we can help fix the problem

Hi, I ran the dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://jsfiddle.net/1kc7p3ey/show This link is for anyone wanting to help. You do not have to view it. It is safe to "run the fiddle" as the page asks.

File information:101920-5937-01.dmp (Oct 19 2020 - 03:34:31)
Bugcheck:ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NOEXECUTE_MEMORY (FC)
Probably caused by:memory_corruption (Process: iexplore.exe)
Uptime:0 Day(s), 1 Hour(s), 16 Min(s), and 11 Sec(s)

Possible Motherboard page: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X570-AORUS-ELITE-rev-10#kf
There is a BIOS update available for your system. Wait for additional information before deciding to update or not. Important: Verify that I have linked to the correct motherboard. Updating your BIOS can be risky. Never try it when you might lose power (lightning storms, recent power outages, etc).

This information can be used by others to help you. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

I had no BSOD yesterday, so not yet today, but now I have been using Microsoft Edge and Firefox only, and not Internet Explorer. I used IE before because Flash worked with it, so I could hear the sounds in a chatbox on a forum.

Thanks for looking at the minidump! Do you think the issue could be Flash-related?

I think I won't be using IE for a while now, and see if that changes things. If not, then I'll try that clean boot.

I can't recall last time I intentionally used IE or actually used it for any reason. Flash is also one of these things that I used to use but not anymore. It could be development of IE is sort of stopped and newer drivers do things differently now. MS are trying to get everyone onto the new chromium version of Edge and away from using IE unless you use legacy programs. Sounds like that forum needs newer forum software.

Yeah, I sometimes get reminders that MS want me to use Edge instead. And true about the forum, but this older version has functions that haven't been developed for the latest version (yet), so we'll use this version for now. It's just the chatbox sounds that don't work with other browsers than IE.

I get a reminder everytime I open a MS site. I just ignore them. I have it installed as 20H2 of win 10 puts it on everyones PC.

Tom's used archiac software for too long so I can't say much about other forums waiting either :)
