I recently ventured into overclocking an Athlon 1200Mhz CPU on a Tyan Trinity KT s2390 motherboard.. Incresaing the bus speed went fine, (using only PC100 memory I was only able to get to 105Mhz before problems) but when I went into changing the multiplier on the CPU, I got strange results...
The motherboard detected the change from 12.0 to 12.5, but the bus speed was detected as 104Mhz (set to DEFAULT in bios). I tried a manual setting of 100Mhz, but again it came up with 104Mhz. I tried 90Mhz, and it showed 94Mhz.. It seems to want to add 4Mhz to any setting with the CPU on 12.5.. While it is set to 12.0, I can make changes to the bus speed and they work perfectly. Can anyone explain why this is happening?
