Strange computer error

My mates describing a problem to me over teamspeak, and since he doesn't know what to do i thought id ask you guys.

When he starts his computer, usually everything works fine, however recently he opens it up, and the first tab he opens on chrome works (Facebook, youtube etc) however any subsequent tabs he opens just time out on him, while the first tab still works.

Skype does not work, it opens but does not connect to the internet, however teamspeak works.

Steam opens however it will display a network error.

He can watch youtube on tab 1, and when he pastes the URL into tab 2 that one also will display the youtube video, however trying to search for anything on tab 2 will display the timeout error.

Any ideas guys? Im really struggling here, and my mates getting annoyed at it lol..

We just had the ISP come out and replace the modem and they found something near the house down wind that was a problem. it may not be our computer.



just for fun:

you can reset your modem
look for updated network adapter drivers
scan for viruses and do rootkit scans
clean your browsers of malware/search engines/ highjacked homepages
reset winsock
reset tcp/ip with microsofts tool

call your ISP to look on thier end.

Resetting TCP/IP worked for him. Cheers.
