Hello everyone i'm new to the forum. I just got this old unit for free and installed an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (1333Mz FSB) and it works fine with the original 1gb x 2 kingston value ram 10600 1333Mz, but the max speed that can be utilized is 1066Mhz, which I'm fine with. The issue I'm having though is that I tried to upgrade the ram with 2x2gb Gskill Ripjaws ddr3 10600 1333mhz 1.5 v and I once I do I get no post. Also tried 2x2 Kingston Value Ram with the same specs as the Gskill but still same result. Doesn't actually boot whether I use one Dimm only or both. Strangest thing is that if i put my old original celeron 450 (800 Mhz FSB) with the same 4gigs of ram or Intel e4600(800 MHz FSB) core 2 duo, it works perfectly. Just puzzling. Could it be that the FSB of the motherboard has a max of 800mhz? Or could it be possible that this E8400 is faulty? I

Opp forgot to mention the motherboard is an old ECS g41t-AD V1.0. I know it is old, but its not too bad as I'm not going to use it for gaming, more for some photo editing. If anyone has a solution or input into this problem please do let me know. Thank you.

Well no, the slots are actually DDR3, it says so right where the dimms are located. The ram works perfectly, it just doesn't work when I use the Intel E8400 Cpu for some reason. That is the strange problem I'm trying to figure out. Which is why I'm wondering if it has something to do with the CPU's FSB which is 1333, while the two other cpu's I tried (Intel Celeron 450, Intel Core 2 Duo E4600)which both work with it have FSB of 800Mhz. Appreciate the feedback though. Thank you.

I am having the same issue. Upgraded from the stock CPU (AMD) on a G41T-AD motherboard after previously successfully upgrading from the 2GB original RAM to 8GM RAM for a few months. After I upgraded to stock CPU to an E8600 the computer gave the dreaded long beep and no post, when I went back to the original 2GB RAM that came with the computer the E8600 upgrade works fine. I even purchased a different brand of RAM and had no luck with it. Any ideas anyone? Did you ever find a solution newB123?
