Strange Extender Problem

Okay, so the router is a D-Link DIR-835, and we are using an extender: Hawking Technologies HOW2R1 which let's us give WiFi to pretty much the whole block and then some.

So occasionally, we will get calls from someone who says that our WiFi is "down", but I can connect just fine with my Android (even in Airplan mode, to be sure it isn't using my data plan), and a co-worker says that her phone connects as well. I try to connect with our laptop (which is a SYX brand using an Intel WifiLink 1000 bgn mini-pcie card), and it won't even connect to the extender at all. What's crazy is that I can connect to the router with no problems. I restart the extender and it still won't connect, but if I reboot the ROUTER (which it had NO problems connecting to) and somehow I can magically connect to the extender again using the laptop.

Typically it will last for a few days before we need to reset the router, but I am only here once a week. We've sent the router in once and we got a brand new router (same model), but it still does this every few days.

Presently, the extender is set to dole out IP addresses on its own subnet, but I've had it set up as passthrough to the router before, and it did the same thing it is now.

Our computers are all Windows 7, but we've had people using iPads and androids complain, too. Direct "local" ethernet connection on the laptop works without a hitch, and never goes out on any of our computers.

Is there some way to figure out what's is keeping the extender from connecting to the router, or has anyone ever heard of this sort of thing before, because I haven't...

If you need any more info or have something to try, just ask :)

I have about 25 dedicated DHCP reservations, and I've left the rest free for wireless users.
The Hawking unit has all IP addresses available. It's a small town, and I doubt we get 50, much less 100 wireless users.
