Hi

I have a couple of internal HDDs, all of which run perfectly fine apart from one. It appears in my list of devices and drives (without the size information), however I cant access it. I can assign it a drive letter in disk management, but cant do anything else to it. If I try to format it, it tells me the volume offline, despite the fact the disk management window says its online. If i try to open it, a window pops up entitled 'Location is not available' that says: 'E:\ is not accessible. The device is not ready.'

The only way I can get around it, is by converting it to a dynamic disk, then taking the disk offline, then putting it back online, at which point the format drive window appears, which allows me to format the disk, after which it then functions normally.

The disk used to work normally, but at some point, this problem occurred, i cant remember when it was though. When I found out I couldn't access it just assumed the sata cable had come loose or something and decided to deal with it later. Later has now come and I have no idea whats going on.

Anyone have any ideas? :??:

Hard Disk Sentinel says the drive is perfectly fine, both when in dynamic mode and accessible, and also when in basic mode and inaccessible.
