Question Strange Incomplete(?) Clone Result

Hi guys, I used EaseUS Todo Backup and followed their instructions to clone my Win 10 on a slow HDD to an m.2 SSD. The results are pretty strange. I am noticing the speeds and lack of noise from the old hard drive and notice the 'windows' overlay on the new drive to signal that it's the primary drive for the OS (presumably) but the laptop seems to be booting from the old one.
Is that going to cause issues further down the line?
Am I a few steps away from a permanent fix where the old one could even be removed?
I haven't deleted anything from the original HDD and have confirmed that it will not boot with it disconnected via the SATA.

Even I can see that the partition on the new drive that's around 350mb is supposed to be a clone of the original at 500mb?!

First boot after cloning you have to boot with only new drive connected.
Redo the cloning and disconnect HDD for first boot after cloning. Afterwards you can reconnect it.

Hi there,
So by booting without disconnecting, I have caused this to happen? For a lamen it is hard to understand how a cloning process is not just that.
Part of my question still remains, just out of interest perhaps, but does this pose problems later on (not booting from the newer drive)? Also the boot process is pretty rapid, the kind of speed you would expect from the new m.2 drive.

It can be fixed, but it's easier to just reclone.

That is a miserable clone alright. You can tell which drive is the boot drive by the C designation, so you are booting the M.2 That determination is made in the bios boot selection menu where bootable drives are listed.The problem that the old drive is required for a boot despite the C drive designation may just be an artifact of the poor clone.

If a reclone does not fully clone the hdd either, try Macrium Reflect Free version, a clone app that is very reliable. See the faq :
