Hey guys! I have a rather odd internet issue that I was hoping someone might know the answer to. I built a new computer last summer. It is connected to the internet via an ethernet cable. My issue is when downloading bigger chunks of data like an album on iTunes or a video game from Steam the computer will periodically disconnect from the internet. It will lose connection for about 30 seconds or so and then reconnect. It will also sometimes do this while attempting to stream 1080 videos on Youtube as well.
The strange part is that it is ONLY this computer that loses the internet access. My wireless network stays up and I can surf no problem on my iPad and laptop at the same time as my wired computer is down.
Things I have tried so far:
-Replaced all cables.
-Swapped to a different ethernet port on my motherboard. (it has 2)
-Replaced the router.
-Have tried all combinations of different router ports with different motherboard ethernet ports.
At first I wondered if my ISP was throttling me, but once I realized that my wireless was staying live that that could not be the case. I'm starting to lean towards either a problem with the motherboard or possibly a Windows issue.
Any insight is greatly appreciated!
Cheers!
