I have Afterburner set to one of the original black and green skins and I chose one of the big versions so it takes up most of my screen when I open it. I have had an intermittent issue over the past couple of years and with two different GPU's. Sometimes when I exit a game and open Afterburner to check my max readings, the interface is only about 25% of the original size, it has a pink/light purple border around it and I can't interact with it at all. I have to go to the taskbar and close it there. My biggest concern is if this is basically Afterburner crashing, did I lose my custom fan curve for my GPU? This happened quite a few times with my 1080ti and now it is happening with my new 3080. It usually just goes back to normal on it's own at some point. I am going to try to attach a screenshot when it happens again.

MSI Gaming Z Trio 3080
Asus Maximus Code IX motherboard
2x Samsung 960 EVO 500MB
32 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM @ 3000Mhz
Seasonic Titanium 850 PSU

Ok, I give up. How do I attach a screenshot here? I have taken a screenshot of my desktop with Afterburner open and went to my pictures to find the screenshot saved as a file. I hit copy and when I try to paste it here nothing happens.

I found the solution.

I am currently playing Kingdoms of Amalur re reckoning. In my options menu under resolution, there is a tab for fullscreen. The options are disabled, borderless window and exclusive. I had it set to exclusive. I tried changing it to disabled and now the Afterburner interface is normal size after exiting the game. I tried borderless window and it also works properly. I thought borderless window would still show the taskbar at the bottom of the screen but it doesn't. It looks exactly the same as exclusive. The game takes up the entire screen. No idea why exclusive causes this issue.
