Hello,
A few years ago I obtained a custom built PC with a motherboard from a HP pc(http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-a1000-Desktop-PC-series/457576/model/466122/drivers) for flight simulation.
I clean installed Windows XP 32-bit but when it came to installing audio drivers the onboard audio failed to work even after driver installation. As a temporary fix, I installed a sound card that unfortunately had many sound artifacts and for some reason only worked on certain volume settings on my speakers. I eventually got sick of this and decided to switch to the onboard audio. I installed the latest drivers from HP and when I restart nothing gets fixed. I discovered after some experimentation that if I press NO to restarting the machine after driver installation the audio works perfectly. The problem is that I now have to install the drivers every time after I start the machine. Any suggestions to get around this?
Thanks
Safa
