Strange issue with Paragon and Macrium Reflect

I'm trying to clone a Hdd to a pata ssd drive. I have tried with both Paragon suite 15 and Macrium Reflect. The issue is, when I hit apply changes, a progress window opens saying proccess started etc and displays a progress %., but it just seems to hang at this stage. I have left it for an hour with both utilities, it just doesn't seem to be doing anything. Stays at 0%. The Target drive activity light flashes now and again, but pretty much just stays off as if the drive is not been used.

Can anyone please point out if I'm doing something wrong or make any suggetions what to try next.

Update, I think I figured out why.
