So I've had this monitor for a few months, and I've only recently started having a strange issue with it.

One morning I woke up, and found that when I went to turn on my PC, my monitor wasn't turning on correctly.

What's happening is that it looks as if my monitor is trying to turn on, but just isn't. The power light flashes blue for half a second, and then goes off again. This process is repeated constantly.

The strange thing is, it has been happening for about a week, but I have been able to temporarily fix it by doing a number of thing. I've adjusted the VGA cable and the display came back. I've adjusted the battery and it came back on. I unplugged the monitor from the wall, and it suddenly came back on. I've even left it in that state for about an hour, and the screen returned properly.

It's not really making any sense to me, as the methods mentioned above are no longer working, it's just stuck trying to turn on for hours.

It only happens after I turn my monitor off, or put my PC to sleep/shut down.

The monitor works perfectly when it is on. I really have no idea what to do here. I've ordered another power supply, if that fails I have no idea what to do.

Additionally, the monitor does this when it is not connected to my pc, as I originally thought it was a capacitor issue.

Really appreciate any help.

Solution
Since the problem persists when the monitor is not connected to the computer, it is most likely a monitor problem.

If you go onto the Acer product support website, there are instructions showing how to return the monitor for service. When filling out the return form, the system will show if the monitor is covered by warranty. You would have to ship the unit to the repair center yourself.

I had a similar problem where the monitor would not go through it's startup sequence and would sit forever with the startup screen. That monitor was just returned to Acer.
