Ive run into a very odd issue, for myself at least, that I was hoping to get some more ideas about.
Building a system for a coworker, its all together and running, except one minor thing. The optical drive will only power up and stay powered up if its connected to the same power cable as the single HDD in the system.
The PSU is a Thermaltake RGB Pro 650w, modular. If I run a separate cable to the DVD drive, the drive blinks green once on powering on the system, then just does nothing. Wont open, doesnt show up in BIOS or windows 10.
If I hook it up on the same cable as the HDD, everything works fine.
Ive taken the PSU and cables in to a local store and they tested everything for free, found no issues, everything was working according to them.
