I would be very grateful for a quick respond time!
(English is not my first language, just so you know since I have some grammar issues)
In games and everything that has a dark colour, like black objects and shadows, has strange lines and shades of green ( not exactly sure, but it's not black like it's supposed to be). It mostly happens when, for example, shades of white get darker and then instead of smooth shades of black, there's strange/annoying lines with slight tints of other colours .

This is to help create a better picture of what I mean;

I encountered this problem almost a year ago and I could never fix it. To me personally it looked like something in my pc must have overheated, but it's definitley not my graphics card. There is a couple of things I want to dismiss though.
~It's not my monitor that's causing problems, it still happens on 3 other types of monitors (that I tried)
~It's not my graphics card, I upgraded to a very expensive one about a month ago, and the problem still presists.

I would really like to have this fixed (if all that is needed is tweaked settings, I would be very relieved), but I don't mind upgrading my other hardware because I just want to know the cause of the problem at least. I play very dark games/watch dark movies all the time and I cannot get immersed with the lines all over my screen. (I'm pretty desperate)

Thank you in advance!

Not the best one on the market, but a Nvidia GTX 650 2GB (it's expensive for me)

I meant to say I tried on 3 different monitors (I'm not clued up on the types) and I use a LG LED E1960 monitor, and tried on a LG LCD W1943SS one aswell (I don't own the third monitor so I can't recall the name)

Both of those monitors have a very poor resolution and contrast ratio. I wouldn't know about the third one but it is probably the same story for that one too. Monitors aside, try updating the video card drivers and changing a these settings in the NVIDIA control panel. Go to the "Adjust desktop color settings" and select "Use NVIDIA settings" after you update the drivers. Hopefully that helps. If not, I am almost certain the issue is the low quality monitors.

Thank you so much for the reply, but I never had any issues like this before with my current monitor. I always had perfect display even though the resolution only was 1360x768. I did overclock my old card a couple of months back, but I replaced it for that very reason and the display in dark areas still had those lines. Do you know if and what could have been damaged when I overclocked the card?

If you had a good display before and now you do not I would imagine it is driver related or setting related. Did you try changing those Nvidia settings?

I doubt you damaged the card. I don't believe you can damage a monitor from overclocking just the graphics card.

Yes, I have changed the 'manage 3D settings' multiple times, but I did just reset everything to default and that wasn't the problem.
I just want to confirm that my Motherboard, CPU, RAM etc. couldn't have been damaged if I overclocked the card?

Alright. I'm going to upgrade anyway pretty soon and I'll replace most of my current hardware. If I still have the problem, I'll atleast know that non of my components are failing or faulty. I'll also try to grab a higher resolution monitor.

Thank you for your support!
