heard a strange, low "brrt" noise coming from my PC. it happened intermittently, and not with any noticeable consistency. I got panicked and recorded 2 videos, thinking it might be my PSU; however, I noticed something in HWInfo: my GPU fans were not spinning at the fan curve I set. then I realized...I had restarted my computer earlier, and sometimes MSI Afterburner's fan curves don't kick in until I manually open the app
normally, I have the GPU fans set to 40c = 40%, 50c = 60%, and 70c = 100%; without that fan curve, the fans don't spin that way (I have an RTX 3070). my temps were naturally higher, at around 63c and the RPM for the fans were 0, and whenever they kicked into a higher RPM, they went back to 0 almost instantly.
I then noticed that (at least I think) whenever the RPMs for the GPU fans went from 0 to any other number, the "brrt" sound occurred in my PC case. after turning on MSI Afterburner and activating the fan curves, I believe the noise has gone away. can anyone take a listen to the noise and at least try to confirm whether or not it sounds like the GPU fans trying to kick in?
you may have to turn volume to 100%; the audio may not have been picked up well, in which case this post is kind of worthless...I held my recording close to the bottom vent because I took this when I thought it was the PSU at fault
