so i have been stable on 7900x oc at 4.5ghz with 1.230v with corsair 3000mhz cl15 32gb ram on asus rog rampage vi apex mobo with 1600w psu to support 2080ti sli, today i upgraded to viper steel 4133mhz cl19 32gb ram and system gave me tons of errors and wouldnt boot until i set cpu voltage to 1.25, so i am confused as to why earlier OC wont even boot with faster ram and BIOS would freeze and several q codes thrown at me with faster RAM, now with 1.25v its stable and passed all tests, any ideas appreciated.

@alceryes Yes i am using xmp profiles, it has 2 profiles, one for 4133mhz and one for 4000mhz both at 1.35v, and i have set cpu oc to per core at 4.5ghz and 1.250v for all 10 cores and all others are set to auto, what is the setting for imc as i dont see it in bios, thank you.

It can go by several different labels.
You'll want to look for VTT, IMC, QPI/VTT, QPI/DRAM and be very careful when adjusting it. Small, seemingly insignificant, adjustments can shoot your CPU temp through the roof and possibly cause issues or permanent damage.

For Skylake-X, VCCSA and VCCIO can help with memory OCs - but they are finicky:
-crashes if voltage is set too low
-can burn up the IMC if voltage is too high
It's probably best left to auto. I've yet to mess with it, but I'm only pushing 3600mhz.

What was the purpose of this 'upgrade'?
