To start, I do not know where else to post this, but I do feel that it might have something to do with my overclock... I have searched the internet for a few days now and I have not found a similar problem to this so far. I will first list my PCs specs then describe the problem.
i7 4770k (4.2 1.2v overclocked) - cooled with corsair h100i
Asus Maximus VI Formula
8GB G. Skill Ripjaw 1333
Gigabyte R9 280x
250GB SSD / 1TB HDD / 500 GB HDD
Basically the problem is described by the title. It got weird when I tried to troubleshoot though. I have tried all windows clock solutions, (different time server syncs, no time server sync, disabling the sync, reinstalling the windows clock application) and none of them have worked.
I have not replaced the CMOS yet for a few reasons, the first being that I do not feel that it is the CMOS unless it is on it's last leg. This system is also no more than 7 days old, so it'd be very sad if I got shipped a bad MBO with a dead CMOS. It's also very hard to get to the CMOS on this board, having to remove the "ROG armor".
The other thing I noticed was that the bios is running version 0804 from 9/06/13 and 1102 was released 11/28/13.
So the really weird thing I noticed was before leaving to work today I set my clock to the right time, 11:00 AM. When I got home at 7:30 PM, the clock said 11:05 or so... it basically seems to only keep the time when I am doing something on the computer, but it still stands still when I have certain games and applications open. I really hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction.
