Strange performance issue

I recently aquired a Visiontek radeon 5670 for my home server. I needed a decent, but not overpowered graphics card for video. Unfortunately, the card did not fit as the server only had a 1x pcie slot. I decided to cut the card to fit the server, and it worked beautifully :). Out of a random impulse, i decided to put the card in my desktop and see what kind of performance i could get out of it. My regular desktop setup is a Dell Precision T3500 with a Xeon w3565 cpu and a gtx 560 ti graphics card. Impatient, i decided to just use minecraft, and see what kind of frame rates i would get. My regular setup on max settings would get around 30+ fps. The odd thing is that the weaker, 5670 running pcie 1x, gets a constant 90+ fps. I expected very different results. Is there something wrong with my 560? Shouldn't my 560 ti get frame rates much higher than this? None of the cards are overclocked.

The thing is, both cards were tested on the same pc. I might try clearing the drivers off of my pc and reinstalling.

EDIT:

After reinstalling the drivers, i get a constant 150+ fps. It seems they were the problem. I also installed a newer driver version, which is probably the reason for the jump in frame rate.
