Hi,

I've overclocked my qx6850 (3.0)Ghz Cpu to a decent stable 3.6ghz
well it could go higher but as a result of this oc I noticed something
when i leave my bios settings to their defualts it posts:
Intel Qx6850 Extreme edition (Count :4)
After overclocking it posts
Intel Qx6850 Extreme edition (Count :2)

The same info is also the same in Cpu-z
Well i'm very surprised about this strange fact specially when using such a high end mobo like
the P5E3 Premium (WiFi Edition) with the latest bios (0402)

According to the manaul and specs provided the mobo fully supports this cpu and obviously gears
towards some good ocing.

Any help will be appreciated
Thankyou!

well dunno the cpu core is @ 50 °C on highest loads the pc is pretty well cooled I also replaced conventional thermal paste witrh artic silver to ensure the best results and then what else ? I just overclocked from 3.0ghz to 3.6ghz not that much just to match my ddr3 modules speed, its very weird that such a mobo can't do so little with so much $$

You have to raise the Vcore Voltage a little. I have seen this problem before.

Dont go over 1.5V ish The max Intel says is 1.3625V but you can go about 10% over.
