Hi all. I'm having some real issues with my wireless internet connection and my graphics card. Sometime ago I got wireless broadband from a local company called DLS internet up here in Illinois. Anyway I got it installed and it worked great, but when I went to run any type of game or graphical intensive app while my internet connection was active in the background I'd get severe graphical choppiness. Disabling the internet connection solves the issue, but I need it connected because my computer acts as the gateway for my home network as well as the fact that I want to play online games. I called Dell and they suggested I reformat my system, while another friend of mine told me to switch my network card to another PCI slot. I switched the card to another slot to no avail, but something funny happened when I reinstalled the OS. Right after I formatted and reinstalled WindowsXP Home and connected it online while running a game, everything worked fine! Then I upgraded from directx 8 to 9.0 (when another application I installed demanded it) and the same dang problem returned. DOH! I've tried upgrading my video driver to see if that helps (nvidia says its directx 9.0 compatible) but the problem remains. Any ideas?
