Hi, this is going to be a long post so i apologize in advance.
I have a friend that is frequently experiencing crashes in Max Payne 3, either during or just after 1 match. I believe his specs are amd 8350, 8gb ram and a gtx760.
We've tried multiple other games single player and multiplayer for large amounts of time and there are no other crashes whatsoever. Max Payne 3 is his favorite game, and i'm fairly Tech savvy but i'm stumped. I'll just list what we've tried to fix so far. He is on the latest drivers and this problem started happening two weeks ago. Also the card is a only a couple of months old.
-Format Hard-drive
-Re installed Windows 7
-Disabled firewall
-Re seated Card
-Changed Card
-Reset/upgraded Bios
-Safe mode
-Memtest/reseated Ram
-change wireless adapter and run wired cable
- changed modem
-Ran as administrator
-Removed spacing in directories
-Tried all variation of graphical settings (DX9/10/11)
-Downgraded all drivers til the release of the 760
-Disabled NET 4.0 (mp3 doesnt support it)
-Windows Fully updated (Besides 4.0)
-Updated Social Club
-Updated DirectX
-Updated the C++
-Reinstalled Game [Retail]
-Reinstalled Game [Steam]
-Opened Ports on Router
-Changed Router
-Reset Bios
-Updated Bios
- Changed/ Formatted HDD
-Memory check on RAM
-Made sure all background progammes disabled
-Disabled EVGA monitor
-Checked temps of all PC components while playing

I checked the error reports and i'll get you a full copy of it soon if it helps.
But I do remember it was this:
c0000005 APPCRASH Maxpayne3.exe

I'm completely stumped as i've tried everything I know, and we know 100% it's not hardware related. There has to be something i'm missing because neither his pc or the game was updated when this started happening, literally nothing changed. But after the reformat/reinstall this wouldn't have mattered anyway. It's definitely only crashing on mp3 multiplayer and this is a problem unique to him as the appcrash is only pointing to mp3.exe as the problem.

Thanks for your help in Advance.

I know there are LOADS of threads about mp3 crashing to desktop upon launching but this IS a different problem.

Some threads about the same problem, though I suppose you have done all of the 'fixes' provided.Could you try reading the problem reports in Windows Problem Reports and Solutions and posting them here? Also, read the event viewer and check if while un-installing the game ,you are removing all traces of it.Hope this helps. :)

'' For Steam Crashes: Remove all spaces from the installation path, make sure it's on the C drive, and add a text file with the app id. If your OS hides the extension, the .txt extension may not be needed on that file. Then restart your computer (and Steam) and try launching from the Steam button or (if that doesn't work) from the Max Payne 3 .exe itself while Steam is running.''

Tried this?It was on the support page....:)

Did you remove all spaces?Doesn't look like you did, according to the picture you posted, your games Directory is Rockstar_Games\Max_Payne_3..It should be RockstarGames\MaxPayne3.Also,Choose a custom location while installing.

That's because that picture i posted isn't the Steam version. The main one he uses is the Retail version. Anyway the directory problem causes crashing upon launching and no launching at all, not this. Besides we've already tried this twice aswell as updating the registry for it.

Hi d1rty_ ,

Any overclocks? Are you removing all traces of the game before re-installing? It * could * be a problem with Social club as well. Also, try contacting Rockstar Support..They are really helpful...:) Also, try running the game in safe mode and in dx9 as well.

Hi, no overclocks, BIOS reset/upgraded/downgraded, Rockstar Support are dead unless its GTA5, not being rude or anything but every post thats been written is already in description of what we've tried! :(
