I did something dumb and bought a used mSATA SSD. It's a Micron MTFDDAT128MAM-1Jt. When I first got the drive I installed Micron's Storage Executive software and I see a very high Unaligned Access Count, High erases, but low Power On Hours. Also it showed 1% of the SSD's life had been used. It's now at 14% used and holding, I'm watching waiting for it to die...
I thought I was going crazy when I would check the numbers, so I took a screenshot so I could compare. After 4 days and 20 hours the Power On Hours have gone from 3596 to 3616, I have cycled the power fully off 3 times and the Power Cycle Count has never moved from 1899 since I got it. The Unaligned Access Count has gone from 7,443,194,512,846 to 7,499,029,677,521 even though I have checked that it is aligned (I read several articles, used a couple tools I don't remember which ones, checked msinfo32).
What would cause such strange readings? Is it just because the drive is starting to die or something else?
