Question Strange shadowy spots (BenQ BL3200PT)

Hello guys

The product is: BenQ BL3200PT (5 years old).

I noticed some strange shadowy spots that you can see here:

Unfortunately, the monitor was being used by my parents and they did not notice anything until I told them about it, so I can't say more about it.

What could it be and how can it be fixed?

If you're referring to the crinkled parts on the display, it's highly possible that the acrylic/plexi film between the actual LED panel and the backing of the monitor was subjected to a lot of heat or pressure or both, that wavy patterns looks like the panel was subjected to stress. No there's no easy way to fix it, outside of replacing the panel or the entire monitor. You sure that the panel exhibits the same sort of wavy pattern when on another donor system or laptop? Changed cables for the panel?

Yup. I tried different cables/laptops and it looked exactly the same way.

No there's no easy way to fix it, outside of replacing the panel or (...)

Is the panel a costly part of the monitor?

Yap, it takes like 80% of the price.
Since it a 5-year old monitor, maybe it's time to let it go.
