Hi,

I just received a brand new TR 3960X and wanted to install it when I realized a strange reddish/brownish spot on the backside
It is very clearly visible in real.

I hesitate to install the CPU as it is going into a complete custom loop and it would be an extreme hassle to have to remove it again?

Anyone ever seen something like that. Should this directly be RMAed, or should I install it?

To be quite honest, I see very little, might have been something on the test bed at the factory, you could try some Isopropyl Alc. and see if it comes off.
If not try a breadboarding it first, see if it works as intended.

If you're really uncertain, RMA is your friend.

I used another angle and pulled up the contrast a bit

Breadboarding is no option as I have no cooler for this thing here
Then I might just have to risk it, I am not amused. RMAing it would be very elaborate process from where I live right now.

It looks like it is burnt in real
