Strange squealing noise coming from monitor power cord box

I have an old AOC E2343Fi monitor which I have just gotten out of storage (had been there for 3 months) and the voltage conversion box makes a strange squealing noise when plugged in, which progressively gets higher and higher in pitch, even going on for a little bit without being plugged in.

The power doesn't work (oddly enough) and the monitor was fine before going into storage. I've tried to replace the power cable with a similar power cable that fit the power slot but still without result.

where was it in storage as in closet or what? does it squeal when plugged into wall\powerbar but not connected ton the monitor?

I would think under normal circumstances that that is coil whine from the inducter coil.In that case ,not much you can do.But seeing that all was well before the storage,it might be other reasons

It was in storage with a storage company, so i assume a warehouse of some sort. Everything else that was electronic that was there is fine it's just the monitor and charger. It squeals whenever it has power and regardless of what it is plugged into.

right now you need a new power adapter just to make certain the monitor still works.
