So about a day and a half ago, or perhaps 2 nights ago, I installed a fresh Windows 7 64-bit on the machine I just built. Things are fine. And snappy. But I've noticed a few oddities.
For example. I remember downloading, um... HW Monitor, I believe. After starting the install, it told me the source file was corrupted, so I aborted the installation. I then redownloaded the file, and everything is fine, it seems.
Another thing is that Steam has been having some issues. At first, I was able to install and update, but games wouldn't download. I figured uninstalling and reinstalling may help, but it didn't. In fact, the client will no longer update, and actually rolls BACKWARDS! This seems to be a problem with Steam itself, but it's just another oddity I've noticed.
Likewise, with my new fairly badass gaming rig, I figured I'd go for Planetside 2. Last night, I kept getting connection issues. I mean, that could be related to Sony's connection, rather than any issues with my OS or HDD, but when you combine these weird issues on a brand new computer/HDD, it just alarms me slightly. It has been downloading more reliably today. Most of it, in fact, has been in the last couple hours. Downloading the game files, I mean.
Oh, and two more things. One is the Nexon Launcher, which I installed and then started updating. I had to shut down before finishing, so that could have been the issue with that. Had to run out for something important. And another thing is strange/glitchy video streaming in Chrome. I've just downloaded Opera, which hopefully deals with the issue better than Chrome can.
But again, these are problems I've never had before, and since this is a new machine, it just alarms me slightly, and makes me think that maybe it's an issue with my HDD, or maybe some sort of fault in my installation. I'd rather fix the issue now, than later, y'know?
Perhaps it's this "Panda" usb wireless adapter that's leading to connection issues, but it hasn't been an issue in video streaming, and whatever else... It's all kind of strange, really.
Hopefully someone can make an educated guess about what is wrong, if anything, based off what I've described. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
