I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, so I apologies if its not. I am having a weird problem with my harddrive, I set it up with a boot partition that is 150GB, and the rest for games and storage. The drive is 1TB in total. I just noticed that the boot portion is all most full, i think there is 4GB left, but when I try and find were all the data is I can't. I don't have videos or pic or any large programs installed on that partition. Could there be some sort of memory leak or corruption?

It just baffles me, since it happened kind of suddenly, there was like 40GB free last time I check it, and I have not really added much to the drive since then...are there hidden places that data is stored, vs just the files listed in the drive...I didn't think so, but...

Thank you for the help!!

Hi there ospray,

You can adjusts your System Restore options. Just reduce the space allocated for that and delete previous restore points: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/5482/make-system-restore-use-less-space-in-windows-7/

Running some antivirus/malware scans will not hurt.

jbaker22: I have looked at all the major files on the drive, the windows file is the biggest at about 35GBs, the others are all pretty small, 8GB is the second biggest, and all totaled up I only get about 60GBs, which means i am still missing around 80GBs of space.

D_Know_WD: I have run both my anti malware and virus scans pretty recently, but will try again. As for the restore points, its a good suggestion and I will look into it! however I am some what skeptical that it accounts for that much space.
