Strangest thing about my gpu which died

So I have this Gigabyte r9 280 windforce which worked perfectly. But then after changing mobo and cpu it stopped working entirely. Like not even the fan is spinning. The die itself is heating up though. There were no smoke, no strange sounds etc. Now is there any way to check if it actually is dead? Its not detected by pc, no video output, fans not spinning, though as I said the die is heating up when pc is turned on.

Test it in another computer, try another PCIe slot if your system has a second one.

If it does not work in a second computer either, that points to a dead card.
