Streaks when i play games?

i recently got a free gaming computer from my cousin and this started to happen he said it would go away after a few hours of the Pc being on but it hasnt any ideas? im a complete idiot to these kind of things at first i thought it was a monitor so i switched same thing

Try another card. Try your card in another pc. Try disconnecting then reconnecting the monitor cable. Double check you've got it connected to the right graphics acxrd and monitor ports - see your manuals
Make sure the graphics card drivers are up to date
