Streaming Choppy Video

I am computer illiterate so any information given; please relay in real people terms.. All video streaming is choppy; Hulu, Netflix and Network channels. Can someone help. I am a senior citizen and rely on my computer for entertainment.

rightclick on taskbar, then click on task manager, then go to performance. While watching a youtube video give me the information of the performance usage of cpu and memory.
