Streaming games has dropped frames even though smooth while playing

Hello,

I've recently built a new gaming rig (about 2 months ago), and have been having problems with dropped frames while playing newer games. The games themselves run smoothly while I'm playing them, but my viewers are getting a lot of dropped frames when watching my stream. I do regular maintenance with CCleaner, Disk Maintenance, etc... and have updated all of my drivers. After talking with some other gamers, they suggested that it might be a problem with my CPU. I'm not entirely sure how to troubleshoot and resolve this issue, and would appreciate any help to get my streams looking their best for my viewers.

EDIT: OBS isn't dropping frames, but the output to twitch looks like frames are being dropped.

you can usually choose the options to use on the upload site.
if you've got 1080p 120Hz recording 120fps in games and the site is only set to offer 60Hz video than you are going to see what you describe.

the same with your recording software.
it would need to be set to use your specifications and not just some generic record setting that may also be limiting frame rates recorded.

dropped frames while streaming is usually is connected to your internet connection. if you stream at 720p 30 fps it uses less bandwidth, might be worth a try.

I think you're right. It probably has something to do with my FPS not being synced up with the stream, which runs at 60FPS. I'll mess around with some of the game and stream settings and see if I can get everything on the same page.

Most likely is not my connection, as I have a 20 meg upload and I live by myself. If I keep having issues though I might try dropping to 30FPS and see if it helps.
