So my main desktop that I use is pretty strong but when I did a test stream it struggled quite a bit. So im curious if its just my settings or what not so here are the specs.

i7-6700k at 4.6ghz (h100i cooler)
32gb corsair lpx at 3000mhz
evga gtx 1080 ftw

second question. If this isnt enough will an i5 2400. suffice as the main processor for a seperate dedicated streaming pc?

Hi,

What streaming software are you trying to use? I used Open Broadcaster Software on an old PC (Specs in the sig) and it works fine to some with certain games. However seems there are certain configs you have to do like encoding/decoding something like that.

Hi,

The setting I am using kinda low so dont have any issues, but seems the problem on your side is settings. I found this link below when seems it 1440 streaming.

https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/need-advice-on-my-rig-for-1440p-streaming.202133/

Note: He also included a pictures for the settings he has and the GPU he uses is GTX 780.

Side question: What are you trying to stream 😛

many games, whatever is on my mind at the time, overwatch, battlefield mostly though

Oh nice, as for Overwatch I don't think it demand a lot in-compare to battlefield. If you have the 2nd PC already it is not a bad idea to try different settings with OBS and leave the 2nd PC as last resort. Of course having a separate PC for streaming is better as your gaming PC resources are not shared between gaming & streaming.

Thanks for the help, Ill see what might be causing my issues. Because when I watch my stream it seems to be in like slow mo, and very skippy. not sure whats wrong here.
