MY PC SPECS CURRENTLY:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500
GPU: Radeon AMD R9 380X 4GB
Ram: 16GB DDR4
CPU Cooler: H80i v2

QUESTION:

So I been wanting to stream WoW in 720P 60 FPS, but the thing is will a upgrade from i5-6500 to i7-7700K or Ryzen 5 1600 (Non X) be the better choice. I want to run 60+ FPS while doing Raids and what not while I am streaming. I can handle below 60 FPS, but I dont want any lower than 45 FPS. I want the game to run on setting 8-10 I prefer 8 over 10 though. I am thinking that the i7-7700K will be the better one due to me having a MOBO that supports it and also a Cooler that supports it, if I go Ryzen I will have to get the bracket for the Cooler and a MOBO for the CPU to work, so either way I will spend just as much money.

PROBLEM:

My current MOBO does not support Overclocking, but in the future I can get one that does, so for now if I go i7 I will run it stock.

Solution
I run a i7 6700k stock, mainly because it was cheaper than the i7 6700. I can stream fine, I can stream GTA 5 on highest settings with 60-70 fps and I have an R9 390 so you should be good if you upgrade.

I don't really have experience in Ryzen but I have a bit of experience with Intel and I'd say it would be good for you to run an i7

The 1600X will still be better you can OC it to, even same clock the 1600X is a slight hair better maybe 2 frames most.

But that 2 frames will not make a difference. So why pay more money for 2 frames...that's the whole situation with Intel vs Ryzen. Intel charges more for their cpus which offer barely more fps than the 1600 and 1700.

One thing I gotta say and im done is that the Ryzen 7 1700 is to perform on par with the 7700K, but yet the 7700K is 10 percent better and the Ryzen is 20 percent more, so for price to performance the Ryzen sucks. Now it is different if you do Streaming and Video Editing/Rendering because if you do those the extra cores and threads are actually being used and then gives you the price to performance. If you base the price to performance off of Gaming and Streaming ONLY then the Ryzen is not the best option it would be the 7700K (Unless you want the Ryzen 5 1600 because it perfroms almost exactly the same in gaming). Watch this video and it will show that the only price to performance killer that hurts Intel and helps AMD is the Ryzen 5 1600 or 1600X. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5A1go2ofkY (Ryzen 7 1700 and 1700X is around 2-3 frames more in gaming)

You can OC the 1600 to 1600X levels EASILY.
You're also comparing a $199 CPU to an over $300 CPU + cooler here.
At resolutions above 1080p their performance is pretty much identical in gaming, and the 1700 trashes the i7 in thread heavy tasks, especially if OC'd which can be done easily as it comes with a beefy stock cooler.
Price to performance is top notch, and i'm afraid if you can't see that, there's not much I can do, just trying to help you get the best deal here.
I also couldn't seem to find this price performance chart you were speaking of, given you're streaming and rendering content too I presume.
Did you see the Vegas Pro benchmarks?
That's practically half the time of the Intel. Get the 1700, that's all i'm posting here, if you want to blow the cash on the i7 that's fine, but it's not the best solution.

I understand you can't get the 1700, but don't go spreading false facts to justify the purchase, just go with it. :(
Either the i7 7700k or the Ryzen 1700 here, the 1600/1600X would be a waste of cash.

I was comparing the Ryzen 7 1700X (When not on sale) and actually not on sale its around almost 400 dollars while 7700K is around 340.

Im just going to stop this here since everyone fanboys off of stupid things. Also I was not comparing the 1700 (Non X) to the 7700K (In price) because the 1700X does cost more than the 7700K in price by a good amount while the 1700 (Non X) is cheaper, but also remember I have NO I mean NO AM4 MOBO, but I do got a MOBO for the i7 7700K.

To be honest I dont care if you think it is a waste of money; to each there own. I am going to go with the R5 1600 (X or Non X depending on sales or anything like that). I just need a CPU that can render 1080p 60 FPS videos that can go up to 3 hours long; my current CPU i5-6500 renders 40 minute long videos within 1:07:00 (1 hour 7 minutes). I want a CPU that will render a minute within less than a minute (i.e. 3 hour videos faster than 3 hours 30 minutes)

Yes I know that, I was thinking of getting the 1600X the whole time; I was responding to the guy who said the Ryzen 5 1600/1600X would be a waste.
