Streaming to IPad drive?

I am looking into a SSD that will allow me to easily watch videos and listen to audio on my IPad. After lots of research I found the: WD - My Passport Wireless SSD 500GB External Hard Drive - Black
Model: WDBAMJ5000AGY-NESN SKU: 6220249

It allows me to wirelessly access that content using their app, at least it claims. Do any of you have personal experience with drives like this for such a purpose? Is there a better solution?
