[SOLVED] Stress testing 5800x3D with Cinebench R23 causes stuttering and significantly reduces system performance.

Hello,

It's possible this is intended behavior when stress testing, however I don't think so.

I recently upgraded to a 5800x3D from a 3700x on an SFFPC. When stress testing temps max out about 75C but windows fails to respond, videos freeze, and my mouse lags until the test completes.

Specs:
5800x3D
Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0)
Corsair SF750
32GB 3600Mhz CL16 RAM (2x16GB)
4x Sata SSDs
2x M.2 SSDs

Hopefully someone can help

Thanks!

I think I solved my own issue. I use process lasso and was allowing Cinebench to run as a high priority program which once I selected normal, improved performance and reduced my scores which is to be expected.
If it reduced performance it means you have stuff running in the background, the freezing to stop is expected but the score should not change unless there is stuff that competes with the compute of the CPU.
Or unless the difference is really small.

You may go to amd.com and support, then download the latest chipset drivers for your board. I’ve got a 5900x running on an older AsRock ab350 pro 4. I had issues where I had to disable pbo in bios so my cooler could keep up. I ended up swapping to the Arctic cooling liquid freezer II 240mm which has a vrm fan built in also and now can run with pbo enabled. Highest I see temp wise is about 77 but system appears very stable.

What cooler are you using?

You may consider one of these.
