I recently stress tested my XFX 7970 (non overclocked) and got extremely high temps. I have a feeling this is really bad would like someone to help me find out if i have ruined my GPU or not.

I am Using Fur Mark (which looks awesome btw when testing)

I first ran it at 1920x1080 and reached temps of 95-97c 99%GPU usage and 100% Fan usage.

Then i ran it at 1600x900 and here is a mid test result http://gyazo.com/b5221c5e9a6af9dfac63319645376f85

Did i break my cpu or will it be fine???

Exactly which card is it?
Those with the reference cooler: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_7970_GHz_Edition/4.html will run very hot, and Furmark is an extremely demanding test.
Also what case is the system installed in? Good front intake fans can help keep temperatures down.
And finally...What is the room temperature?
And really, really, finally: Those temperatures are very high but survivable, as I recall the thermal shutdown temperature for the HD7970 is 105C.

Both fans are working
I normally get about 50-67c while gaming

its the r7970 3GB double dessipation
and i am running an NZXT 420 with 2 front fans and 1 back and one top fan/s

I also turned off the Fire ring in the middle of the screen and the temp dropped to its idol of 50 c which i thought was quite odd and i was achieving like 435FPS

Like A_Goat says, Furmark is a very heavy test, in the past it was treated as a hostile virus by some drivers because it was known to burn out otherwise perfectly good cards.
Given that my much modded and long suffering XFX HD 7950 DD would hit 90C (stock cooler 950/1450 clocks) under Furmark and your card is a bit stronger you're probably seeing pretty normal numbers for this savage test.
Things to consider:
Make sure the intake fans and air filters are clean, the old DD cooler wasn't the best made and it needs plenty of nice. cool air to work at its best.
Some games have built in benchmarks: Two of the stronger ones are Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light. Old favourites like the 3D Mark series or the Unigine Heaven benchmark/stress tester are more widely used because they don't artificially load up the card.

Ok, thankyou all for the support and help.

The games i am running are (all ultra-high settings) BF3 ( where i am only getting 18-30 FPS and it keeps spiking) and Far Cry 3.

What would you guys recommend as a GPU upgrade for a 2560x1440 Monitor???
I would like to make the switch over to Nvidia but i dont know if i can afford it quite yet.
