Every time I attempt a stress/torture test my new build will shut down and restart. The event log tells me I have a critical kernel-power error (event 41, and 6008). I've experienced no other type of events like this yet.
This restart occurs with OOCT, Prime95, and AIDA64. I can successfully run the Valley benchmarking software and I've been able to run Memtest86+ off of an image file from a USB. I received no errors from Memtest86+.
I've tried switching power supplies, with/without a GPU and different cpu coolers. My temps are not crazy (mid 30's idle). My VCORE is 1.06V>>1.38V. I've updated every driver I can think of.
I'm running Windows 8.1 (64-bit). My specs are:
Intel i7-4790K @ 4 GHz
MB Z97X-UD5H-BK (Ultra Durable Black)
G Skill 2x8G 1866
GTX770 4GD5 EVGA
PSU EVGA 850W (80 Plus Gold)
SSD Samsung 840 EVO
Corsair H80i hydro series

I'm at a loss.

Solution
first reset bios back to default and don't oc.
Update motherboard bios
Stress test with one stick of ram at a time
Try different power cord and or different outlet.
