Alright so this is my first thread, so forgive me if I have any mistakes. So recently my NAT type has been strict with my wired internet. My wireless seems to work fine, but I get 20 mbps download and ande 10 mbps upload speed instead of 180 down and 15 upload. I set up a static IP and I forwarded the xbox live ports. What else can I do? The cord works fine on my pc, so I dont think its an issue with the cord. Thanks for your time.

I might have the answer for you. I'm an IT guy but not the ultimate expert. On my router I setup the ports that needed to be forwarded, but my nat still didn't go to open. It was moderate or strict. What I learned is you need UPnP turned on, a games DMZ setup, and a reserved IP address for the xbox you are forwarding for. Without the DMZ setup and the reserved IP address for the xbox, the nat won't go to...
Is UPnP available and enabled on your router? is anyone else playing games on your network? Have you powered down both the console and the router after forwarding the ports?

what game(s) are you playing?

I have tried enabling UPnP, Both my brothers play PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox one, and Yes, I restarted both.

It is strange that wireless works and wired doesn't... hmmm

I will point out that if your brothers are playing at the same time - and using the same ports (e.g. xbox live port, or specific game port) this can cause Strict NAT. For example, my roommate and I both play Call of Duty, he is on PS4 and I'm on PC. If he signs in first, when I try to play my NAT is strict.

You can also call your ISP (comcast or uverse at&t, and they will help you get the nat open for free). They can do all the necessary settings for you remotely. Hope this helps. Just tell your ISP that you need your NAT Network Address Translation set to open type for your gaming console. I also forgot to mention, if you are calling your ISP to have them help you, I recommend hard wiring your console to the ISP modem/router combo unit. It gets more complicated when you use aftermarket routers and switches, etc.
