strictly film editing using a Ryzen 7 2700x

I'm a new director/videographer and I'm building PC for performance. I definitely like the Ryzen due to the amount of cores, but from that point I'm still learning. I went the route of building my own PC because I figured this is the most practical method to address PC speed and storage. Any insight would be appreciated. Oh and I have an experienced person to help build it but Im researching for my own education!

Check your software documentation first, some editing suites prefer Intel, others would like masses of AMD cores, and most would like a fast graphics card for the massive compute power they can wield ( CUDA, Direct Compute or OpenCL ).
