striker 2 extreme needs water cooling?

Can I boot up a striker 2 extreme without water cooling? when is water cooling required?

1| As long as you have the stock intel air cooler you will be able to boot fine and in essence no you don't need watercooling to boot on that mobo.
2| That would be answered in the watercooling sticky, located in my sig
