I have recently been playing Steam games and when I do after ten or so minutes the screen turns to a different color of vertical lines. Also the lines are different in color. Also I am sure that this is a problem with my GPU because when i start windows there are no lines on my normal screen and on the start up screen of windows. I have an AMD 7950 I have had it for a year and have never had 1 problem with it. Yesterday night the lines started appearing when I was playing the game War Thunder off of Steam. I have also experiences the lines watching YouTube videos and running a benchmark on my GPU through Fur-Mark. My power supply is rated for over 1000 watts so and 80+ Bronze so I don't think that would be a problem. Also when I am idling on my computer watching YouTube my GPU is about 42 degrees Celsius. When I play a game my GPU can range from 60-85 degrees Celsius. I have seen other people with this problem and they said cleaning the GPU might help but I tried cleaning some of the dust off but that didn't really help with the temperature. Also I do not think that the temperature is really a problem because even when I got my car it ran that hot and usually AMD cards tent to run at higher temperatures. Any help well be much appreciated Thanks in Advance

EDIT: My computer has turned to a screen when I was watching YouTube videos and ithas happened twice. Also When I shut off my computer i will have to reset it many times to get it to start up right.

Solution

Try underclocking your core and memory clock by 50Mhz and see what happens.

No I have never overclocked my GPU and I have 16 Gigabytes of RAM and it is compatible and I have never had a problem with that either.

Solution
I have had artifacts caused by overheating chipsets. If there are no problems with the ram/memory controller settings go on to check motherboard temperatures and that all the heatsinks on the motherboard are properly mounted. Sometimes pushpins come loose when components are mounted, and so on.

Well that seemed to work and I also moved my PC to a different spot so I dont know what reallt fixed it but tank you so much.

No problem, I'm glad the issue is fixed.

Wow now it is doing it again but only when I exit a game on steam and it has been fixed for YouTube so far sorry for asking again

Well I just found a different form and someone else had the same problem and they said that it was just a faulty car hopefully I have a warranty and they will replace it it hasn't even been a year.
