Hello, so for a while now at random times whether I'm playing a game or browsing the internet at random times my screen turns to verticle stripes. This forced me to do a hard shutdown.

Graphics card: AMD MSI R9 280X

I decided to finally do something about it so first I made sure my video driver is up to date which it was. So then I decided to totally delete my graphics card software all together and reinstall. So while installing I got the striped Screen again so now when I start up my computer I get a striped Screen immediately at my desktop.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Stripped display can be caused by a few things such as a bad monitor, bad GPU, bad power supply, bad PCIe port, corrupt display driver. It sounds like you have ruled out the PSU.

Try booting into the bios to help rule out a driver issue. Still have lines?

Take a screenshot and send the screenshot to another PC to view it with to insure that it is not the monitor.

Try a different PCIe slot if you have one available.

Clean current drivers while in safe-mode and reinstall.

I do not unfortunately so I'm going to try it in safe mode and see if I can load it up thanks

I bought a brand new power supply which is more powerful to ensure enough power and I also use my monitor to play console games and have no such issue. So it's probably the video card. I'm just trying to find a way to have enough time to reload the video card before the screen goes to stripes so maybe safe mode?
