Question STRIX-GTX980-DC2OC-4GD5 Help with Cabling

On an Asus ProArt X570 Creator WI-Fi. I need to buy a cable and don't know which one. It seems I had a cable that had 2 connectors on one end on my previous, motherboard - Rampage V Extreme. My current card,t, see above, has an 8-pin and a 6-pin. I don't know if I use both connections or not, with this ProArt. The other end of the cable hooks into an 8-pin, on the motherboard. There is a 2 pin right beside it.

I found a cable with all the pins needed for the 980 cards. Just curious why the 980 did not have all the pins together rather than 2 connectors. It might have something to do with installing a second card. Only a wild guess. Anyhow, I used all the pins for my single 980.

I would suggest to get some help from somebody who knows what they're doing, the cable needs to come from the PSU to the GPU, never from the motherboard to the GPU! You need the cable which was supplied with your PSU, don't buy a random cable cause a lot of PSU manufacturers use a different pin layout and you might fry your 980...
