Hi, i just bought a new gpu, the GTX 1660 6GB but i installed it and updated the drivers but my gaming performance is still poor, i have 16gb of ram, an i5 4690k CPU and i still have to play on very low to only get 20 frames on Rust. i really thought a 1660 would help alot.

So my question is, what do i need to upgrade? and any suggestions?
Thanks alot

What resolution are you playing at?
Please list your full system components, including motherboard.
I just play at 1080 normally
Intel Core i5 4690K @ 3.50GHz
16GB Ram
MSI B85M-E45 (MS-7817) (SOCKET 0)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (EVGA)
^^ This is what i dont understand also, its a 6gb gpu but its says only 2gb?
Corsair VS550 PSU

i5 4690k CPU and i still have to play on very low to only get 20 frames on Rust.
I hate to ask this, but you have your monitor plugged into the GTX 1660, not the motherboard, right? The reason I have to ask is because this video of Rust on Intel HD 4600 looks to be about 20 fps on very low settings. Which would suggest you're playing the game using the Intel integrated GPU, not the Nvidia GPU.

While a GTX 1660 should be 50-80 fps at medium settings. If your monitor is definitely plugged into the Nvidia GPU, did you remember to plug in the extra power cable from the PSU to the Nvidia GPU?
