Struggling to un-screw Heatsink?

Solution
And don't just pull, gently twist it at the same time. But twist it in both directions, so you twist clockwise just a little bit, then counterclockwise, then clockwise again, etc.
EDIT: Nevermind, seems the specific heatsink isn't screwed at all.

Does it seem like you're just unscrewing endlessly? Also, try unscrewing in an X pattern (first a bit on a corner, then the opposite corner, then another corner and so on).

If it doesn't work open up the other panel and try to see if the screws are spinning. If they are, put some gentle pressure against them (on the back of the motherboard) while unscrewing on the other side.

Sorry about that, I was trying to figure out how to put it into the right words, I've just basically been trying to unscrew the heat-sink and it's just not been coming off, but according to this I've just been doing it wrong.

So it's just a twist and pull heatsink? or is there some other way of dismounting it from the motherboard without screws?

If you've undone the latch securing the heat sink to the motherboard, then the only thing keeping the heat sink attached is the thermal paste. This is where you need to be careful. You don't want to pull the CPU out of the socket. Try using something thin like a business card to slip between the heat sink and CPU.

EDIT: WARNING!!!! do not use anything hard that could possibly scratch the surface of either the CPU or heat sink.
