I cleaned out my PC for the first time in a while today and I noticed that on the bottom of my fans, opposite of the side facing me, there's a small layer of dust caked on the blades. They're pretty stubborn and blowing air didn't really do anything. I'm not noticing my GPU performing any less than it ever has in terms of temps l so can I assume that this stubborn dust is normal to some degree? I would really like to avoid cleaning that if at all possible since I know I can't take apart my GPU for that sort of thing. I assume the dust was a problem most of it would have been blown off from the duster? Thoughts?

Solution
You can take your GPU apart for that sort of thing. But if you don't want to, cotton swabs can be used to loosen things up before going in with the air again. Coming in at an angle, you should be able to reach a lot of the backside of the blades.

You might see the visible screws that hold the fans onto the shroud and the shroud itself may only be held on with a few screws. Depends on the card.
