popatim :
I'm sorry. :-(
There's two ways to proceed; begin testing or try removing all the add-in devices, ram (all but 1 stick) and see if windows will install to a base system. If you have built in graphics then use that to install with. If it installs fine then add in 1 thing at a time (remember to power off and unplug first).
Testing involves creating a memtest86+ disk and boot from that to test your systems ram for several hours or overnight. If there any errors then you've found the problem. Then scanning the HDD for defects (this would be the long test on the manufacturers diagnostic software)
Can you also list your systems specs for us with make and model# of the parts please & ty.
It's not your fault! Any information is helpful even for future events. But I will test that out tomorrow and let you know. Also, could you explain a little more about making a memtest86+ disk? Is there another post or website to save you and me time?
As far as system specs, I'll make a list of everything besides peripherals and case and such.
